Privacy Film for Windows

With a privacy film for windows you can make your glass opaque without sacrificing natural light. Depending on your needs, three types of window film are available, each with a different look, function and best use case.

Day & night privacy

Frosted Window Film

The classic solution for making windows opaque. Frosted window film works like etched glass and provides reliable privacy day and night. Light is gently diffused so the room stays bright and welcoming.

Which window film for which room?

Not every privacy film suits every situation. Here are our recommendations.

Bathroom

In the bathroom you need privacy around the clock. Frosted window film is the best choice here, as it remains opaque even when the lights are on in the evening. It lets enough daylight in and is moisture-resistant.

Recommendation: Frosted window film

Office

In an office, daytime privacy is often sufficient. Mirror window film protects against prying eyes while also reducing screen glare. If you need privacy in the evening too, choose frosted window film instead.

Recommendation: Mirror or frosted window film

Ground Floor

Ground floor flats are particularly exposed. For living areas, frosted window film applied to the lower part of the window works well. The upper section remains clear for unobstructed light.

Recommendation: Frosted window film (partial application)

Frequently Asked Questions About Privacy Film

Frosted window film and decorative window film make windows opaque both day and night. Mirror window film only provides privacy during the day, as long as it is brighter outside than inside. At night with interior lights on, the mirror effect is no longer effective.

Yes. All three types of window film allow daylight into the room, though to varying degrees. Frosted window film diffuses light evenly. Mirror window film reduces more light as it reflects part of it. For decorative window film, it depends on the chosen pattern.

The film is applied to the clean glass surface using water and a small amount of washing-up liquid. An installation kit with squeegee and cutter is available in our shop. Installation takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes depending on window size.

Yes, our window films can typically be removed without leaving residue. Heat the film with a hair dryer and peel it off slowly. Any remaining adhesive can be cleaned with glass cleaner.

Mirror window film provides noticeable heat protection alongside privacy, as it reflects part of the solar radiation. Frosted window film and decorative window film do not offer significant heat reduction.

Privacy films are suitable for all smooth glass surfaces. For insulated glass and double glazing, please check whether the film is compatible with the specific glass type beforehand. Details can be found in the product description.
