Glare Protection

Frosted film diffuses light and filters UV rays. It is therefore suitable not only as privacy protection. Especially in conservatories or rooms with glass roofs and/or skylights, frosted film also provides glare protection. Disturbing glare effects are reduced, and fading of furniture and home textiles is minimised.

Exterior Use

Make Windows Opaque with Frosted Film

Frosted film is the simplest way to make windows opaque. Unlike mirror films, which only provide privacy during daylight, frosted film is opaque around the clock. Neither during daylight nor with interior lighting switched on can people see inside from the outside.

At the same time, light transmission remains high: white frosted film allows up to 75% of daylight through. The room stays bright and friendly without additional lighting. This makes frosted film the ideal solution for ground-floor apartments, bathrooms and practice rooms.

Opaque does not mean dark with frosted film: the matte, satin surface scatters the light instead of absorbing it. From outside only silhouettes remain visible, inside the room stays bright. If you need a window film that is see-through from inside and opaque from outside, you need mirror film instead, and that only works in daylight. For ground floors, bathrooms, bedrooms and consulting rooms, opaque frosted film is therefore the reliable choice, mounted inside or outside.

Windows are not the only glass that needs privacy. On glass doors, door inserts and shower screens, frosted film is the simplest solution because it is cut precisely to the glass size and needs no frame, drilling or curtain rail.

  • Front doors and side panels: privacy for the entrance without darkening the hallway

Frosted Film for Bathrooms, Practices and Offices

In bathrooms, frosted film provides the necessary privacy without darkening the room. In medical practices and law offices, it protects the confidentiality of consultations. In offices and conference rooms, it visually separates areas without losing the open character. The film can also be applied to partial areas, for example as stripes on glass doors.

Self-adhesive or Static Cling?

Self-adhesive frosted films are applied to the glass surface with water and adhere permanently. Static cling films stick without adhesive and can be removed and reapplied as often as you like. For permanent use in bathrooms or offices, we recommend the self-adhesive version, as it adheres reliably even in high humidity.

Our frosted films are self-adhesive window films with an acrylic adhesive: the film is applied wet, positioned and squeegeed onto the glass. It then stays put for many years, yet can be peeled off without residue whenever needed. Static-cling films are the choice for rented flats or changing uses, for example on windows that should be clear again in summer.

Frosted glass films require very little maintenance and are extremely easy to care for. For cleaning, we recommend using a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, as these can damage the film.

Applying frosted glass film is quick and straightforward thanks to its self-adhesive backing.

First, thoroughly clean and degrease the glass surface. Then peel off the backing liner and carefully position the frosted glass film on the glass, avoiding any creases. Using the free squeegee included with your order, smooth the film from the centre outwards to remove air bubbles and wrinkles. After application, allow the film to dry for several hours and avoid disturbing it, so it can bond properly.
