This self-adhesive sun protection film in medium grey is applied to the outside of the window and provides effective heat protection while maintaining a pleasant level of light transmission. The neutral grey tint blends subtly into any facade without producing a strong mirror effect. With 40% light transmission, the room stays sufficiently bright – a good compromise between sun protection and daylight.

Why Exterior Installation?
With exterior installation, solar radiation hits the film first – and is largely reflected before it even reaches the glass. This has two advantages:
- Better heat protection than interior films, as the heat never enters the glass
- No risk of thermal stress – the glass pane is not additionally heated
Suitable Glazing Types
This film is suitable for the following glass surfaces:
- Single glazing – clear
- Insulating glazing – clear
- Low-E glass – upon consultation
Not suitable for laminated safety glass (VSG).
Important: The film is not suitable for partial surface installation – it should always cover the entire glass surface.
Installation
The film is applied from the outside onto clean, smooth glass. Thanks to the self-adhesive backing, installation is completed in just a few steps – instructions and an installation kit are included.
Warranty
- 8 years when applied to vertical surfaces
- 5 years when applied to angled surfaces (roof windows)
Variants
This film is available in two tint levels for exterior installation:
Would you prefer to apply the film from the inside? The Sun Protection Film Medium Grey – Interior offers the same colour for interior installation.

- Do not apply interior films to insulating glass or thermal insulation glass. There is a risk of thermal glass breakage. Check the type of glass before installation and ask us if you are unsure.
- Keep film, backing paper and packaging away from babies and small children. If they cover the airways, there is a risk of suffocation.
- Cutting the film involves utility knives and sharp blades. There is a risk of injury, keep tools out of the reach of children.
- Installing film on exterior surfaces or at height involves a risk of falling. Work from a secure footing or hire a specialist company. For roof windows we generally recommend installation by a specialist company.
